Flag Raising Ceremony cum Drill Performance on National Day 2024
In celebration of the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, the Leisure and Cultural Services Department presented the National Day Flag Raising Ceremony cum Drill Performance at the Hong Kong Museum of the War of Resistance and Coastal Defence with the Hong Kong Adventure Corps, the Hong Kong Sea Cadet Corps and the Hong Kong Air Cadet Corps on October 1, 2024. Other activities including the guided tours and game booths were also arranged to enhance the cultivation of national identity as well as the understanding of the team spirit and discipline of youth uniform organisations. The flag-raising ceremony was officiated by the Deputy Secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism, Ms Winnie Tse; the Deputy Director of Leisure and Cultural Services (Culture), Miss Eve Tam; the Principal Assistant Secretary (Education Commission and Planning) of the Education Bureau, Ms Cynthia Chan; the Assistant District Officer of the Eastern District, Ms Jasmine Chiu; Deputy Commandant (Operations and Training) of the Hong Kong Adventure Corps, Lieutenant Colonel Ricky Kwong; Deputy Commanding Officer of the Hong Kong Sea Cadet Corps, Commander Ricky Fung; Deputy Commanding Officer (Training) of the Hong Kong Air Cadet Corps, Wing Commander Roger Kwong and the Museum Director of Hong Kong Museum of History, Mr Terence Cheung.
