I) From the July 7 Incident to the Battle of Shanghai: A Brief Overview of Military Strategies of China and Japan
    in the Early Stage of the War of Resistance

The lecture focuses on military strategy and discusses the strategic objectives, overall deployments, and coordination of different branches of the armed forces on both sides during the period from the July 7 Incident to the Battle of Shanghai. It will also examine each side’s expectations for  decisive battles, and the process by which the war gradually escalated into a full-scale war.

II) Activities of the Chinese Communist Party in Hong Kong After the Victory of the War of Resistance

This lecture will examine various activities of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) in Hong Kong after the victory in the War of Resistance, including its early cooperation and negotiations with the British authorities, the handover of public order and medical support, as well as the establishment of institutions such as the Xinhua News Agency Hong Kong Branch. It  will also recount how the Hong Kong government’s attitude toward the CCP evolved from tolerance to restriction and suppression in the post-war period.

III) Livelihood and Military Issues in Northeast China Before the September 18 Incident

The lecture primarily focuses on the situation in Northeast China before the September 18 Incident, and considers whether the tragedy of the war was inevitable. It also aims to understand the significance of revisiting the history.
