From September 18th Incident till Victory: Transmission of Memories of the War of Resistance (A Joint-school Chinese History Programme)
To commemorate the 80th anniversary of the Victory Day of the Chinese People's War of Resistance and the 94th anniversary of the September 18th Incident, the Hong Kong Museum of the War of Resistance and Coastal Defence (MWRCD) organised a Joint-school Chinese History Programme for students from Sha Tin Government Secondary School, Tuen Mun Government Secondary School, Shau Kei Wan Government Secondary School, Shau Kei Wan East Government Secondary School and Tseung Kwan O Government Secondary School.
Aiming to deepen the knowledge of the students about the history of the War of Resistance, and to cherish the hard-earned peace, a sharing session between students and the President of the Veterans’ Association of the War of Resistance and Executive Director of The Academy of Chinese Studies; conservation workshop and guided tours on thematic gallery were held on 18th September 2025.
The museum invited the President of the Society of Veterans of the Original Hong Kong Independent Battalion of the Dongjiang Column, Ms LAM Chun; and Executive Director of The Academy of Chinese Studies, Dr YAU Yat to host a sharing session with local secondary students.
During the conservation workshop, students are introduced to basic conservation techniques.
Students visit the “Standing Together for Peacebuilding: Commemorating the 80th Anniversary of Victory in the War of Resistance in Guangdong and Hong Kong” thematic exhibition to enhance their knowledge about the history of the War of Resistance.
